Relax and rejuvenate this summer with free health and wellness sessions at Camberwell Green

Sessions are held at Camberwell Green Market every Saturday from 25 June to 30 July from 10am to 1pm.

Health and wellness gurus will lead free workshops on Camberwell Green every Saturday throughout the remainder of June and July.

The sessions, led by 35 health professionals, will include Yoga, tai chi, ice skating and bike classes, art, music, creative writing, nutrition and pantries.

The Feel Good Festival is the brainchild of local mother Shazna Choudhry, who has been devastated by the impact of Covid-19 on her community’s mental and physical well-being.

Shazna said: “When lockdown hit I saw the loneliness of my elderly neighbours, the isolation of our children and the difficulty of accessing healthcare.

“Now post COVID, it’s wonderful to see the community coming together at our Feel Good Festival to improve everyone’s wellbeing.”

Mind, body and soul are all covered by the stunning range of sessions on offer, some of which people have likely never tried before.

Why not try “mindfulness through photography”, “skating for beginners”, cartoon drawing or even a “guided tree walk”?

Alongside the wellness sessions, Partnership Southwark is building a health and wellness tent where people can receive mini health checks. There will also be a Covid-19 vaccination center.

The festival is organized by community organization SE5 Forum with the help of Partnership Southwark, MIND and Bethlem Gallery at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.

Shazna’s own employer Eversholt Rail is also providing funding, while local father Pete Lewis, partner at creative agency Curious Ways, has handled the marketing for free.
