ARCHERY

Allen County: The Allen County Archers host 3-D shootouts on the first Saturday and Sunday of every month through September. It’s open to all devices. They also hold traditional 3-D shoots year-round on the third Saturday of the month, weather permitting. They are open to all archery equipment. The archers hold a traditional bow ‘butt shoot’ only on the fourth Saturday of the month, weather permitting. DAY CAMP

Lima: Children are being guided through a summer of discovery through August 19 at the Lima Family YMCA at 345 S. Elizabeth St. Space is limited so parents are encouraged to register early as camp packages are available at the YMCA desk. The cost is $85 per week for members and $110 for non-members. EQUESTRIAN

Cridersville: The Equestrian Therapy Program is hosting a Volunteer Orientation and Training Session on Thursday, September 8th at 5pm at Fassett Farm, 22532 Grubb/Bowsher Road. GOLF

Delphis: A trip in support of UNOH Sport Marketing and Management’s trip to Super Bowl LVII and other hands-on learning experiences in conjunction with the Delphos Canal Days will be held at the Delphos Country Club on September 17th. The cost is $75 per player. Registration begins at 6:45am with an 8am shotgun start. Lunch and an awards ceremony will follow. Sponsorships possible. Lima: The Allen County Horseshoe Pitchers, located at 1815 C St., have openings in leagues and doubles. Open doubles starts at 8:30 am on Saturdays. Maize hole leagues form. PICKLEBALL

Lima: Pickleball is played Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00am to 11:00am at the Bradfield Center. All skill levels are welcome.

Lima: The Lima YMCA hosts an open pickleball game on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (by appointment only). Lima: WAR Wrestling begins its 20th year on Saturday, September 10 with United We Stand at the Empowered Sports Center (formerly Northland Lanes), 1730 N. Union St. Tickets are $18 for reserved VIPs, $10 for general admission or four for $35. VIP doors open at 5:30pm, general doors open at 6:30pm and wrestling is scheduled to start at 7pm. Spencerville: The 45th Annual All-Comers Cross Country Meet will be held on Thursday, August 18 at 6:00 p.m. at Spencerville High School, 600 School St. Entry fee is $2 per runner registering at 5:00 p.m. The races start at 18:00 with individual and team ribbons being handed out. Elida: The LifeWise Academies of Elida, Spencerville and Allen East, in partnership with the ACTS Character Academy and the Tom Ahl Family of Dealerships, are hosting a Labor Day 5K race on September 5 at 9:00 am. The event begins and ends at 4289 Sunnydale St., the property known as the Sunnydale House. The cost is $20, including a t-shirt, if you register by August 2 at 11:59 p.m., $25 if you register between August 3 and August 26. After August 26th $30 with no T-Shirt Guarantee. Ada: The Ohio Northern University Mental Health Prevention and Awareness Committee is hosting its first on-campus GLOW 5K Run/Walk during National Suicide Prevention and Awareness Week on September 8 at 8 p.m. near the King Horn Sports Center. The first 50 attendees to register will receive a water bottle and towel from ONU Mental Health Prevention and Awareness. Entry fee is $10 or non-perishable food. YMCA CLASSES

Lima: The Lima Family YMCA offers adult classes including karate, swimming, aqua aerobics, arthritis aqua aerobics, chair exercise classes, yoga (chair and regular), HIIT, BodyPump, yoga pilates flow, core workout CX, combat, zumba, cardio, and tone and cycling. Members receive free land fitness classes and a discount on other classes. Non-members are welcome to attend the courses at a per-class payment or session fee.
