Clay Township resident Kristy Bottle has turned her passion for craft into a successful business. Now she wants to give something back.

Bottle runs Kristy’s Craft Room, an online craft store that sells wood cutouts. Bottle also operates a subscription service that sends monthly craft kits to subscribers, hosts Facebook Live events on their page, and posts craft tutorial videos.

Recently, Bottle made it to the semi-finals of the Barnwood Living DIY Hero Contest, a competition where voters can vote for their favorite crafter from across the country. The top vote collector will receive $25,000 and an article in Make Magazine.

Bottle said if she wins the prize, she will use the money to start a passion project that sends free craft kits to those who can’t afford craft supplies.
