Whether you want to celebrate the 4th of July with fireworks, a parade, or maybe a swim, we’ve put together a list of fun activities happening in our area!

4th of July celebrations in Arlington

Celebrate Independence Day in downtown Arlington with live music, kid-friendly activities, food trucks and a spectacular fireworks display on Sunday July 3rd followed by a fun Red, White and Blue parade the next day.

The celebrations, which are free and open to the public, begin July 3 at 6:00 p.m. at the Parks and Recreation Department’s annual Light Up Arlington. Covering 57 acres around City Hall and the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library, this year’s celebration includes some of the best musical performances in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, vendors, food trucks and plenty of kid-friendly fun.

Bands will perform on four stages downtown, beginning with 6 p.m. concerts in front of Arlington Music Hall and at Boomtown in front of the Grease Monkey restaurant, a 6:30 p.m. concert in front of the City Tower at 101 S. Mesquite St. and a 7pm concert at the Levitt Pavilion Arlington.

Face painting and a bubble bus are among the activities planned for little ones at the Downtown Library. Vendors and at least eight food trucks selling a variety of foods and desserts will be located in Firecracker Alley, which will be located in the parking lot on the west side of City Hall on Abram Street between Oak and Pecan Streets. Food trucks are also expected to be available near activities at the Library, City Tower and Grease Monkey.

The fireworks, which last about 20 minutes, are scheduled to begin at 9:50 p.m. and will be voiced on 95.9 The Ranch FM. Fireworks are shot from the roof of City Tower, located east of City Hall.

4th of July celebrations at Cedar Hill

When the weather is hot, Cedar Hill invites you to celebrate the Fourth of July bank holidays on Mondays from 2pm to 5pm at the Crawford Park Pool! Enjoy a day in the sun with family-friendly games, music and prizes. $2 per person. Open to all.

The Independence Day Parade is hosted by the Duncanville Lion’s Club and begins at 9:00 am on Monday, July 4, 2022. The parade route begins on Wheatland Road at Freeman Street, heads west and turns right onto North Main Street, and then ends at North Main Street and Freeman Street.

Residents are invited to set up blankets and chairs along the parade route to enjoy the fun and creative float parades.

Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Wristbands are required for entry – from June 1, you can pick up wristbands at the recreation center; Limit 5 per person and must be 18 years or older. Bags and coolers are subject to inspection. Alcohol, glass containers, tents, canopies, large umbrellas, off-duty animals, personal drones or firecrackers are not permitted.

The fireworks show starts at around 9:30 p.m.

Grand Prairie Lone Star Park July 3rd and 4th

Lone Star Park will once again host the Lone Stars and Stripes Festival and Fireworks Show on July 3rd and 4th. Kids can have loads of fun at the family amusement park, which features a petting zoo, pony rides, face painting, airbrush tattoo artists, inflatable slides, obstacle courses and games. Musically choreographed fireworks after the last race around 9 p.m

Sand Bass Point (in Oak Grove Park), 399 Sand Bass Dr., Grapevine, Texas, 76051

The show, which will last approximately 20 minutes, combines high-profile fireworks with up-close pyrotechnics to create a diverse mix of effects such as crawling comets, falling leaves, color-changing peonies and more.

Mansfield Rockin, 4th, 6pm, 3rd July

The fun begins Sunday, July 3rd at 6pm at Big League Dreams Mansfield. Celebrate with friends and family while enjoying live music, games, rides, food vendors and a whole field full of Parks & Rec PLAY!

Directly across from the parking lot, Hawaiian Falls Waterparks hosts an exclusive night swim event with a wave pool and whirlpool slide. Entry to BOTH parks is included with your $20 ticket, which covers parking at Big League Dreams as well as entry for everyone in your vehicle! Come early, enjoy the festivities, and then get ready to really rock out as the fireworks display begins at around 9:30pm

Midlothian Independence Day celebrations on 2nd and 3rd July

Midlothian Independence Day activities begin on Saturday 2nd July with celebrations at the Heritage Park at 8am and the United We Stand parade beginning at 10am on North 8th Street

The Arts & Crafts Fest opens the day’s activities at 8:00 am and runs through noon at Heritage Park, 203 N. 8th Street. This includes sales and food stalls.

The annual fireworks show, sponsored by Citizens National Bank of Texas, Methodist Midlothian Medical Center and Midlothian Community Development Corporation, will take place on Sunday, July 3 at 9:15 p.m. The show can be viewed from the parking lot of the Midlothian Independent School District Multi-Purpose Stadium, 1800 S. 14th Street and surrounding area. The gates to MISD Stadium will open at 6:00 p.m

Wilmer 2nd Annual Sparks Firework Show July 1st

Mark your calendars for the City of Wilmer’s 2nd Annual Sparks Firework Show, taking place on Friday, July 1, 2022 from 7-10 p.m. at 4801 Interstate 45 in Wilmer.

Wilmer Mayor Sheila Petta said: “Last year’s event was a success and I look forward to this year as we will have food trucks, a gaming truck, a face painter, a balloon artist and a DJ.”

Another element to create the spectacular Sparks in the City will be the fireworks show matched with music, which will be available at KBEC 1390AM/99.1FM.

“I am so grateful to the Praise Fellowship Baptist Church and Padian Properties for their partnership in enabling the city to host a spectacular Fourth of July celebration for all,” concluded Mayor Petta. “We hope you will join us as we celebrate America’s independence and continue to honor America, land of the free and home of the brave.”
